Accessibility Statement
Last updated: 8 November 2026
We want everyone to be able to play Dice World War, including people who use screen readers, keyboards, magnification or other assistive technology.
Standard
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at level AA. That target also covers Israeli Standard SI 5568, which follows WCAG 2.0 AA as required under the Equal Rights for Persons with Disabilities (Service Accessibility Adjustments) Regulations, 2013. We believe the site partially conforms. The known exceptions are listed below.
What we've done
- Keyboard: the whole game can be played with the keyboard alone, with visible focus outlines. In the Leaderboard window, Esc closes it, and Tab cycles only through that window.
- Screen readers: each step of a battle is announced in text: the attacker, the defender, every die rolled, the score and the winner. The dice have text labels, and the full standings, battle history and rules are available as text in the Leaderboard.
- Colour: text and buttons meet WCAG contrast ratios in both light and dark mode. Red (attacker) and blue (defender) are always paired with the words "Attacker" and "Defender", so colour is never the only cue.
- Motion: if your device is set to reduce motion, the game turns off its animations and speeds through the picking steps.
- Sound: sound starts only after you press a button, it can be muted with the speaker button, and it never carries information that isn't also shown on screen.
- Zoom: pinch and browser zoom are allowed, and on short or zoomed screens the page scrolls instead of cutting content off.
- Structure: the page has a page language, landmarks, headings, labelled buttons and a proper dialog for the Leaderboard.
Known limitations
- The world map is visual. Countries on the map can be inspected by tapping or clicking, but not with the keyboard, and the map's colours and flags aren't described one by one. You can find the same information as text in the Leaderboard (Territory, Population and Battles tabs) and in the battle announcements.
- Flags are decorative. They always appear next to the country's written name.
- Ads: ads between battles come from Google and third-party advertisers, so we can't guarantee that their content is accessible. Ads appear at most every few battles and can be closed. The game pauses its own sound while an ad plays.
- Timing: a battle plays out automatically over about 15 seconds. Results stay on screen, and are listed in the Battles tab, after it ends.
How we tested
We checked the site with automated tools (axe-core) in Chromium, with keyboard-only use, with the browser zoomed to 200%, and in light, dark and reduced-motion modes.
